Gina Hutchins-Inman lädt bei ihrer Lesung auf eine Reise in das ferne Owamboland in Afrika ein und stellt dabei ihr “deutsch-amerikanisches” Projekt vor. Die Autorin arbeitete zwei Monate ehrenamtlich als Englischlehrerin in Namibia und kam mit einem Rucksack voller elementarer Erfahrungen und unvergesslicher Eindrücke zurück. Sie beschreibt sich und ihre Schüler/innen als Lernende.
Die Kinder haben die Zeit mit ihrer Englischlehrerin aufnotiert. All dies und fotografische Momentaufnahmen hat sie gemeinsam mit ihrer Tante Dr. Karen Hutchins-Pirnot zusammengestellt in dem Buch “The learners of Owamboland”. Informationen zu diesem humanitären Projekt unter www.twaalulilwa.com
Die englische Buchausgabe, deren Erlös an die Twaalulilwa Primary School geht, ist zum Preis von 10 Euro bei der Lesung erhältlich. Die deutsche Ausgabe ist in Vorbereitung.
Frau Heidrun Möller aus Homburg gibt Informationen zu den aktuellen Projekten der Entwicklungsförderung Benin e.V. und die Trommel-AG des Eine-Welt-Ladens Homburg vermittelt mit den Trommelrhythmen ein kulturelles Bewusststein für den afrikanischen Kontinent.

Gina Hutchins-Inman invites us to take a trip to the far away Owambo land in Africa by presenting her German-American project. The authoress spent two months as an English teacher in Namibia on an honorary basis and returned with a backpack of elementary experiences and unforgettable impressions. She describes herself and her pupils both as learning from each other.
The children made notes of the time they spent with their teacher. She and her aunt, Dr. Karen Hutchins-Pirnot combined all snapshots in a book titled “The Learners of Owamboland”. Additional information regarding this humanitarian project please find at www.twaalulilwa.com
The proceeds of the English edition of the book (Price 10 Euros) will go to Twaalulilwa Primary School. The book can be purchased after the reading. The German edition is in preparation.
Heidrun Möller from Homburg gives information to the current projects from the “Entwicklungsförderung Benin e.V.” and the “drum group” from the “One-World-Shop Homburg” is suggestive of the African cultural awareness for the African continent with the drum rhythms.
