Das Deutsch-Amerikanische Institut Saarbrücken (DAI) organisiert am Mittwoch, den 13. April 2011, 19.30 Uhr, in seiner Bibliothek in der Talstraße 14 die zweite Veranstaltung aus der Reihe “…. about American Literature” mit dem Titel:
“Terms of Endearment” von Larry McMurtry
(deutscher Titel: “Zeit der Zärtlichkeit”)
Dr. Bruno von Lutz, Universität des Saarlandes, stellt den Buchinhalt vor und erörtert mit der Teilnehmerrunde die Handlung (Sprache: Englisch).
Erzählt wird die Geschichte von Mutter und Tochter über einen Zeitraum von 30 Jahren. Aurora ist eine eigenwillige Frau, die sich nicht von ihrer Tochter Emma lösen kann, zu der sie eine ungewöhnlich innige Beziehung hat. Emma hat es schwer, sich neben ihrer dominanten Mutter zu behaupten. Beide Frauen versuchen mit viel Mut und Humor, die Herausforderungen des Lebens zu meistern.

Dr. Bruno von Lutz, University of the Saarland, will present the book’s content (language: English) and discuss it with the participants.
